He locked the doors, which was the main reason for the use of the FOB, and set the alarm which has an interior motion sensor. Someone reaches in and it goes full tilt. Will it stop them? No, but it will make people look to see what is going on. Most folks that go topless are smart enough to not have anything sitting out in the open to grab.

Are we doomed? Very likely as there are a lot of folks that jump to judge something before they understand what is going on. No reason to think about something, just pile on with a bunch of others... :)
Also, don't modern vehicles that use a FOB have a demobilizing system in the vehicle that makes it very difficult to steal unless the FOB is in proximity?
It's armed by locking with the FOB.
If I remember correctly, certain models of Kia and Hyundai got sued big time and were forced by the government to do a free install of software to create an immobilizer to prevent thefts.

Can't speak for the Jeep, but a good number of vehicles these days are keyless, the FOB is the key.
