No offense but this makes absolutely no sense to me at all.

I'm going to 2nd this! Why is she impatient but no rush?!

Wait, did you get married yet or not? The invitations have gone out? You under 30 years? Just do some good pre-marital counseling sessions (the full series), and that should tell you whether or not it *ought* to work. Date for a bare minimum of 4-5 years, and live together a bare minimum of 6 months. And, not or. Good luck. :)

P.S. Wait, does he hate guns? If yes, then you should run. Fast. Just my opinion.

Idk who this was directed too but I would NEVER EVER even consider dating someone who hates guns.

none taken

well after 3 years of living together and callin her the ole lady or wife not to mention putting up with me and takin care of me she thinks (and i can't disagree) that she has earned the ring to make at least part of it official.

she knows I ain't goin nowhere and that we are in it together. But well she is a girl and does like pretty sparkly shiny things.

the no rush as in no rush to run off and get married....hope it makes more sense I am just scatter brained right now

I got nothing to say that somebody, somewhere will not miscontrue so ...

I am happy for you guys.

Guess Dr.THW was right ... GC and I are very much the exception to the rule (and I will be forever grateful for that!).

Only been married a little over two years but have been together eight. It's work and we don't even have kids. We lived together for about three years before we ever even got engaged. Just take a deep breath and ask yourself the tough serious questions, you already know what they are. I will say my wife and I went to high school together although we didn't date we did party together if you know what I mean. So we already "knew" each other pretty well. Good luck!

we can always talk elsewhere as I am sure you know I don't take offense to anything really. I am open I have done stupid things, I about lost her and I regret that every day.

I am grateful every day for her and the kiddos and what I have here. I have had my eye openings and rude awakenings that brought me back to reality.

My wife of 26yrs and I met in April and was married the week after I got out of bootcamp the following March. We have made it work, of course I was such a catch it was easy for her.:hot:

My folks were a little faster than that. My mom had a double date with one of my dad's flight members in the Air Force and one of his buddies. My dad hitched a ride into town with the 2 and ditched mom's date and showed up on the date. They were married 2 weeks later, I came along 9mo and 2 days later. They made it for 24yrs until my dad's death.

The biggest problem nowadays is we are a disposable society. It's too easy for people to just discard a relationship when things get tough. I wouldn't give you 2 cents for a marriage that hasn't been challenged. There is just something comforting about knowing that your spouse will be there when things get tough, because she's done it before. That kind of trust is nothing short of a true blessing.

I waited until I was 35 to get married. We were together 2 years before and have been married for 7 years. First marriage for both of us and neither of us had kids.

It was definitely worth waiting for the "right" one.
