This thread got me to remember that when I had SW Arkansas as part of my territory, there was a place in El Dorado, AR called Spudnuts. IIRC, they used potato based flour??? They were great and I would always take a dozen to a customer I had in Ft Smith. they were a day old when he got them and i usually brought a dozen home with me. Good even as day olds.
Polar uses potato in many of theirs. It’s why I loved their just plain glazed doughnuts so much.

Should you happen to be in Bixby when the urge strikes (before noon), you have to get yourself (and the rest of your party) to Moniques. It is on Memorial between 116th and 117th. It is worth the trip. Always fresh and the inventory doesn't stick around for long. My wife is very picky so I've tried many locations, she actually asks for donuts occasionally. It's the best I've found (around here) in a long time.
