They hit you first for just a couple of bucks to see if they can make the transaction work then they go for the big bucks. I recently had to replace my debit card when my bank called to make sure I wasn't trying to buy a plane ticket in India.

They hit me for 2 bucks and when that went through, the tried for the airline tickets.

Thankful that the bank took the initiative to block the purchase and contact me. Have had very good results with US Bank.

this is what they do. they will sometimes do this a couple times to set up the bank to think its legit then pull more out a month later. sad to say the banks dont do anything other then refund the money and take the loss. this includes cc's except they will reverse the charge if they can but never really go after the offender

I had a charge like that last year. Called the bank and they took care of everything. None since then. Gotta keep an eye on your account for sure.
