Has anybody had one of these done? I filled up my truck last night, got pissed and did the math. The price difference for that one tank would have saved me $74.
And with one of those inhome Phill units the savings would have been $93 freaking dollars on that one tank! :faint: :faint:

So I'm actively looking for feedback on a dual fuel conversion.

the tanks are suppose to be very safe. can fill up at your house. and a can drive a month on one fill up(hear say)...but the kit adds a lot of weight and electronics from what I hear. I know a guy that recently got certified to instal these set ups. but can't find his card yet. he does it on the side. but I'm assuming its kinda expensive.

You would probably be better off trying to find a deal on a truck that is already converted. The tanks have expiration dates, so you have to look out for that. New tanks are very expensive.

The last time I checked, the cost was about 10K, and only certain models can legally be converted commercially. At that time there were tax credits available, but I don't know if they are still offered.

A decent cng kit will cost 10k. You can buy a cheap cng kit with expired cng tanks for 5k. None of the systems aftermarket that I have used, are perfected. Same day auto, Tulsa gas tech. I had two big tanks took up half of a long bed and held 16 gallons. The factory installed kits would be the only way I would do it. Place in Morris, ok. you can buy a whole used vehicle ready to go for what you can get a kit for.

CorpsVet on here drives one daily and he and I had a good discussion about it. PM him about his experience.

Seems like the way to go is to buy a used converted vehicle and start saving big money right away. Better fuel economy, lower price per gallon and cleaner for your engine. Win, win, win.

Ya you ain't driving nothing on cng for a month. As a matter of fact you will fill more often at way less places.

True. The tanks are small and places to fill aren't on every corner.

If you're willing to plan a little and fill up often, you can save some dough though.

I think it probably works best in a commuter type situation where you can plan your route past a fill station.
