Rock Island Auction has had a few in the last 10 or 12 years. One sold in 2011 for about $1600 and another went for about $2300 in 2018. I've also seen them with A1 uppers. If memory serves I got right around $1500 for mine with a few boxes of ammo to go with it.

I haven't seen .222 ammo for sale anywhere in ages.

I was just checking around on GunBroker. There's a listing for a complete rifle in SP1 configuration for $3200...and that's at least the second listing for this gun with no bids.

A complete Colt A2 upper in .222 just sold about 10 days ago for $500. That seems like a pretty good deal.

It seems I recall the one I had was built for an order to Mexico. I know some went south while others went to Europe. I've been looking but so far can't find out how many were made in total in .222 caliber.

The picture is just like any other boring Colt SP1.
There was a Colt .222 carbine on GB several months ago. The guy had a BIN for $8500 or something ridiculous. He had some sort of provenance with it but it had some red flags.
