I would love to have the Goldwing in the classifieds but that's just not going to be in the cards for me.

It's probably a good thing because I haven't had a motorcycle since the early 80's and there are way too many distracted drivers these days.

Got that right, I quit riding street bikes back in the 90's, too many a----s fumbling around with their phones to pay attention to their driving. I had an old lady in a big Mercedes SL-500 pull out of a gas station right in front of me, I had to lock up the brakes so hard I fell down right in front of her, she looked at me disgustedly and drove on, that was the final straw. if I had a gun on me that day I'd probably be in prison now.

thread reborn, hey how's that bike treatin' ya?
Well I ended up buying a bike from another member. It will sit pretty in the garage until I can take a safety course, but I'm excited for my first bike.

I ended up going with a Harley Sportster 1200.

I was near born on 2 wheels, started 70s with a $130 Sears mini bike and ended in 2009 with the American icon, HD. No way I'd ride today. If I had as many eyes as a fly I still would not. That gadget called the cell phone coupled to mmj coupled to diminished brain activity equals danger danger Will Robinson. 🤣

I bought a versys 650 a few months ago and have really enjoyed it so far. I know it doesn't get the cool nod, but I think it was a decent choice for a first bike to learn on. Still don't know if I'll do it long term, but it's an experience.

I only commute a few miles to work generally, but it's nice spending about $7-8 every 2 weeks on gas even after a short weekend joy ride.
