how will u line up the ejector in the receiver ever time

After the barrel was screwed into the receiver and tightened, I scribed the ejectors location on the barrels face, removed the barrel from the receiver, set the barrel in the milling machine and cut the extractor slot. Now, with the barrel screwed back into the receiver and tightened, everything lines up perfectly and extraction is flawless - at least with the testing of 5 10 round magazines that I loaded and shot through the gun....

This "short" forend is why I turned down 7" of the 1.062" diameter barrel to a diameter of .920"...

This shows the barrel after the shank was turned down. Once all barrel work is completed, the barrel will be bead blasted to a dull matte gray finish...

I'll post more pictures as soon as I get a chance....

Just to let you guys know, I did complete my Ruger 10/22 build and will be posting pictures of it here tomorrow. It just got too late this evening when I finally finished and too dark to take pictures. I do however have to install a swivel stud in the forend for bi-pod use but, that's no big deal....

All shooting was done at 50 yards, from the bench, using a Harris Bi-Pod and sand bag...

I'm actually kinda dissapointed in the accuracy of this rifle but, with an 8 lb. 2 oz. trigger pull and a scope with thick cross hairs and only 10X made things kinda tough - at least for me anyways. I'm more use to a 6 oz. Jewell trigger and scope magnifications of 30X and higher. No excuses, this is just totally different from what I'm use to shooting. First order of business though will be to come up with a much better trigger....

Those groups aren't bad for bulk HV ammo. Try some standard velocity or match ammo to cut down on the flyers and tighten up the groups. CCI Standard is about $7 for a 100 pk, and entry level match (SK standard or RWS Target Rifle) are around $40-$50 a brick.
