My dad dug a hole outside of the garage, buried a glass gallon jar at ground level for the mouth. Used peanut butter on the end of popsicle sticks balanced over the mouth.
Mouse would crawl on the stick and drop into the jar.
He would capture them alive and take them to the lake putting an unweighted hook into the nap of their neck, tossing them into the lily pads which is where the swim beach is now at Lake Ponca.
After they crawled onto a pad, he would move them off so they would have to swim to get back on the pad. He caught some really big bass using that.

Well since the last time on this thread my mice have came back. Ordered some of the Tin Cats. Set them out with peanut butter in them, well that attracted some critters possums, racoons or skunks. So they tried getting in them, but luckly they couldn't. But the traps got moved around so I had to go to Lowe's and get some paving stones to weigh them down. First catch was today and he did not survive his swimming lesson. So far so good.
