Greed has got this country's balls it doesn't matter either way the government is going to run and spend and run and spend and so on.. They get what they can take, not take what they can get.... We let them run all over us..

There is a lot of waste in military spending but a lot of it is not put there by anyone in the military, but by members of congress. The alternate engine for the F-35 is a good example and so is dianne feinstein's patrol boat that the navy never wanted, was given to some college that had no use for it, then sold for scrap a couple of years later.

There was a post the other day on another board by a Navy Armorer who was forced by protocol to send an M4 to Crane NSW for service that he could've fixed for under $5. Crane sent him a replacement M4 for while they worked on the one he was to send in They charged the Navy $2,700 to ship just that M4! When he called Crane to get the shipping invoice fixed, they said that WAS the actual shipping charge and gave some BS about it being a restricted item that required special handling.

You could put a midget on a plane to hand carry the M4 there and it wouldn't cost $2,700!!! WTF? :(
