There was a post the other day on another board by a Navy Armorer who was forced by protocol to send an M4 to Crane NSW for service that he could've fixed for under $5. Crane sent him a replacement M4 for while they worked on the one he was to send in They charged the Navy $2,700 to ship just that M4! When he called Crane to get the shipping invoice fixed, they said that WAS the actual shipping charge and gave some BS about it being a restricted item that required special handling.
You could put a midget on a plane to hand carry the M4 there and it wouldn't cost $2,700!!! WTF?
I bet some member of congress had a hand in making sure Crane got that contract and it is pretty standard through all government agencies. This is the kind of crap that needs to be stopped before anyone's taxes are raised or anyone's benefits are cut. Get rid of the waste then tell us how much money really needs to be raised.
