I don't know what evidence Travis County (Austin) Tx actually has on Mr. Wilson, so I'll withhold judgement for now. I do know they have a grudge against him, so they'd better dot every "I" and cross every "t"!

Cody Wilson, a staunch advocate for developing and releasing plans for 3D-printed guns on the internet via his organization Defense Distributed, has been charged with sexually assaulting a child.

According to an arrest affidavit filed in Travis County District Court Wednesday, Wilson, 30, is accused of paying a juvenile female “under the age of 17” $500 to have sex with her at a hotel in Austin, Texas, on Aug. 15, a second-degree felony.

Austin Police say Wilson initially met the girl on the website SugarDaddyMeet.com where he operated under the alias “Sanjuro.” Wilson identified himself by name and arranged to meet for sex in subsequent conversation, according to a police search of the girl’s phone authorized by her parents.

In separate texts reviewed by police officers, Wilson sent the girl photos of his penis and described himself as “a big deal,” presumably referring to his efforts at Defense Distributed, the 3D-printing gun manufacturer he founded.

Surveillance video obtained by the Austin Police Department corroborates the girl’s story and shows Wilson and the girl enter the hotel lobby and walk toward the guest rooms at 8:37 p.m. on Aug. 15, then leave roughly 40 minutes later at 9:19 p.m.

As of Wednesday morning, Wilson did not appear to have surrendered to authorities, Travis County records show. A county magistrate has ordered he surrender his passport and be held on $150,000 bail.

Defense Distributed did not respond to a request for comment Wednesday, nor did SugarDaddyMeet.

Wilson, a self-described “crypto-anarchist,” attempted to distribute free plans to 3D-print plasticfirearms on the internet, touting its efforts as heralding the “age of the downloadable gun.” After a federal judge blocked Defense Distributed from sharing the plans for free, Wilson attempted to circumvent the ruling by “selling” the blueprints for a nominal fee instead.

In subsequent filings, Defense Distributed and a second gun-rights group called the Second Amendment Foundation argued their ability to share schematics for printing firearms constitutes free speech that’s protected under the First Amendment.

Crazy. I wonder what he thought her age was. I guess the parents should have looked through her phone earlier. Surely they require you to be over 18 to even be on a sugar daddy site. I’m not worried though. If I can ever afford one it’ll be one that has a few miles.

"Require" in the sense of "Click here to verify you're over 18."

Doesn't matter anyway; statutory rape is generally a strict-liability crime. He could have checked her ID and birth certificate, and if she'd forged them, he'd still be guilty.

If she forged I.D. Documents and I was on the Jury, I would vote, ‘Not Guilty’.

I call B.S.. She said he paid her $500. Pretty sure she is the one who should have been arrested for prostitution. With all of the people and federal agencies he's pissed off, I'm sure they put together an "op" to screw him over. I'm sure he's smart enough to have everything he owns in someone else's name or at least a holding company. He is not stupid and I don't think he is stupid enough to put himself in a situation to be taken advantage of in the way presented.

But most would still say guilty because of the social programing about females always being victims and that they have no responsibility regardless of their actions.
This social experiment opened some parent's eyes but was quickly vilified for being abusive to the girls involved.

You'd probably never find out; that would be suppressed as irrelevant.

Patronizing a prostitute is also a crime, and nothing here precludes her being charged.

http://www.foxnews.com/us/2018/09/1...h-minor-left-us-for-taiwan-officials-say.html

Cody Wilson, the owner of a company that makes untraceable 3D-printed guns who is wanted on an arrest warrant accusing him of sex with an underage girl, has left the U.S. and was last known to be in Taiwan, investigators in Texas said Wednesday.

Austin Police Cmdr. Troy Officer told reporters that the department was working with national and international law enforcement to locate Wilson, whom Officer said missed a scheduled return flight to the U.S.

Officer said it was unclear why Wilson went to Taiwan, but he added that a friend of the 16-year-old alleged victim told Wilson that he was under investigation before he left. The commander also said Wilson's name had been entered into a national law enforcement computer listing him as wanted for sexual assault of a child.

Investigators said Wilson met the girl for sex at an Austin hotel on Aug. 15 and paid her $500 afterward. A counselor for the teenager reported the accusation to Austin police a week later, saying Wilson met the girl online.

In an affidavit, Austin Police Detective Shaun Donovan wrote that surveillance footage showed Wilson and the girl getting out of an SUV at the hotel and then exiting an elevator together on the seventh floor, Donovan wrote. The footage showed them returning to the elevator later that night.

CODY WILSON ACCUSED OF SEX ASSAULT

Investigators said the SUV's license plate matched one of the vehicles registered to Wilson’s business, Defense Distributed. Donovan wrote in his affidavit that hotel records showed that Wilson registered the same room -- number 718 -- as the room where the girl reported he had sex with her.

Officer told reporters that detectives believe "if someone mistakes [the alleged victim's] age it would be because they think she's younger, not older than the 16-year-old that she is."

WILSON SAYS HE'S SELLING 3D-PRINTED GUN PLANS DESPITE RULING

After a federal court barred Wilson from posting the printable gun blueprints online for free last month, he announced he had started selling them for any amount of money to U.S. customers through his website.

More than a dozen states sued to stop an agreement that the government reached with Defense Distributed, arguing that the blueprints for how to print plastic guns could be obtained by felons or terrorists.

Fox News' Lucia I. Suarez-Sang, Christopher Carbone and The Associated Press contributed to this report.

I'm not saying he's guilty, but fleeing the country upon being charged is not exactly the mark of an innocent man. Also, I'm pretty sure we have an extradition treaty with Taiwan.

Yeah and it's not like fake IDs aren't common and easy to get. There was a case somewhere that revealed young girls were using fake IDs to make porn so it's obvious some are using them for that, possibly prostitution or just to hook up with older guys.
