You definitely earned my respect for your identification of the actual issues at hand. There are definite double standards at play everywhere in our society, which need to be dealt with because they have gotten beyond out of hand.
If this were any other dude this wouldn’t have made the news at all. And if it were the other way around involving the sexes it wouldn’t have made the news either. Which is pathetic because women are always *****ing about equality, I say we give it to them.
But in Cody’s case, I hope someone on his side puts the actual truth out so the public can see what is truly happening. Bet your ass the media isn’t going to. They want him shut down too since the media is the right hand of the democratic party. Not to worry though. They are both about to go down in flames, as they should.

The simple facts are age, gender, and sex have been weaponized for societal and political purposes. Age and gender are used as factors to promote emotion over logic and class warfare. Sex has been determined to be both an asset/commodity to be used while at the same time something to be treated as special if not "holy" depending on how someone wants to use it at the time.
The question we must ask ourselves is are the results beneficial or negative, what are our society and politics like compared to times past and how have those changes effected the nation as a whole?
You are correct about the double standard issue and reporting/perceptions. Recently Weinstein victim and leading figure of the #metoo movement Asia Argento at 37yrs. old was outed(with evidence) for raping a 17yr.old boy, (a child by the standards in place). there's even a pic she posted calling him "My son my love" which of course would be considered quite creepy among other terms if a man called a young girl he's sleeping with daughter. Where is the outrage? Seen much reporting on it? Heard anybody calling her a cougar or pedophile? What do we see in other reactions and treatment of this issue that's pretty rampant in the school systems.

In another recent case it's been determined that noted feminist professor Avital Ronell has sexually harassed a former student, seen any reporting and outrage along the lines of what we've been told about the situations on college campuses now?

Our personal perceptions, experiences(and confirmation bias) effect how we view and judge these issues, as you said and most know the media plays into that to a good degree. Aside from the current cases I'm reminded of the Strauss-Kahn issue from years past. I remember the reporting and the opinions of many on this forum as to his guilt because "she said so" and "rich powerful guys do that". When it finally shook out it all charges were dropped because it was discovered that the accuser was getting money from people and admitted to lying about the rape. How much reporting was there about the outcome? That case had large political implications regarding the IMF and presidency of France and Strauss-Khan even said he feared a frame up prior to it happening.

You said you hoped the truth would come out in this case but again we need to remember the only truth that would change anything is if it wasn't him who did it or if she was in fact over 17 because even if she lied he's guilty. And in reality even if she's of age he's still guilty and a monster(among other things) in many people's eyes because she's female and young, not the same with Argento or all those teachers huh?
Double standards, hypocrisy, appeal to emotion, selective stereotyping, and false equality along with outright lies and fraud are being used against some for the benefit of others along with as said before social/political agendas. Logic dictates if it is accepted and allowed regarding one subject it will be used the same way with others, isn't that what's being tried with gun control by Moms demand action and the "children's" gun control groups?
