Dillion 550B or 650

I'm almost ready to take the plunge and I know I'm going with the Dillion. What I'm not sure about is whether or not to get the 550B or spend a little extra now on a 650? Anyone here buy the 550 and then later regret not buying an auto indexing loader?

I compared the two and decided on the 650. At the time there was no case feeder option for the 550. That and the auto-indexing made my decision.

The extra station made my decision. I wanted a powder check.

The auto-indexing is worth the money for safety alone. That's why I chose the 650.

The extra station for a powder check and auto index convinced me to go with the 650. The 550 case feeder was not available when I bought mine, that made a little difference too.

If your just getting in reloading then the 550 is what you need as you can single load on it and THAT"S how you need to learn to load ammo 1 AT A TIME

A 650 can be single loaded too. Just have to learn the machine.

I have both presses 550B and XL650, The XL650 is just so much faster than the 550B I use the 550B much less.

I ended up with the 550 and now I'm adding additional dies. Can anyone tell me if these will work?

Yes they will, but depending on the length of the die, you may have to screw the die into the tool head and put the retaining ring on from the bottom.
