DMX Strobe Programming HELP!

So I bought an American DJ strobe light set thinking it would be easy to set up a strobe show for Halloween(my wifes favorite holiday). I've inspected
the lights and found out they use a DMX programming language. I'm in way over my head. It seems i need a DMX controller and the skill to program it.

Problem 1:
i don't have a controller or know what brand to buy.

problem 2:
I need help programming it!

Can anyone help?

If it's dmx contollable there should be dipswitches that can be set to run in manual mode.. A cheap dmx board will run between $50-$100 , might check craigslist or cheaplights.com out of TX .. I can help you program it also..
