Although you can't know enough about most anything, I will say what is currently on my mind:
As it has been said, Constitutional carry with mandatory training is not Constitutional carry.
You have to be a grown up to carry a gun, and with being a grown up comes responsibility. There, as we hopefully all know, are consequences to our actions. It is our own personal responsibility to know the laws. Right now, if I unknowingly go out and break some law that I am unaware of, the arresting officer does not care that I didn't know the law. Ignorance is not a defense. Should we have mandatory training for all of our laws? What kind of a free country does that look like?
No. It is personal responsibility. Some will educate themselves, because they are smart, responsible grown ups. Some will not, because they are not. There are consequences for that. As it has been said on this thread, the meat of the CC class is learning the law. Not how to shoot a gun.
What causes more permanent damage every year? Untrained gun owners, or untrained parents? Oh, that's right. There is no mandatory training to be a parent.
Well said.Just to expound on that a bit:
Since no one would be required to seek permission from the government to exercise their 2nd Amendment rights under Constitutional Carry, there is no mechanism with which to mandate training.
If people are unaware of their Constitutional Rights or the basic legal concepts of self-defense (i.e. you can't shoot someone over property or cussing at you, etc.), then that is a direct indictment of the education system in the U.S.
IMO, the grand social experiment we've been subjects of over the past 40 odd years has been an abject failure. It's time to bring real history, social studies and civics back to the schools, along with firearms programs within things like 4H, JROTC, and other elective classes.
Further, if we're going to have to suffer inane bureaucracies like the U.S. Dept. of Education, they need to develop a firearms safety program for schools that simply states: Firearms are everywhere in the United States. You are highly likely to encounter a firearm in your life. These are the basic rules of firearms safety... Then: If adult supervision is not present, go tell and adult. If you aren't familiar with it, don't handle it. If someone is not handling a firearm safely, LEAVE! Failing to follow these rules may result in death. The End.
Yes it is. If you can not hit the target, you wont pass. Of course they work with this individuals to make sure they can hit it before they are done.Hitting the target is not a requirement.
Who was the second "no"?

According to the report on KFOR earlier this week, you don't even have to shoot at all to get a CC license.
Well if they said it, it must be true...lol
