My daughter went to the Norman DMV yesterday to see about getting her drivers license transfer, and they told her the line for walk ins usually starts at 3am. She got in line this morning at 3:45 and is third. They supposedly only take 10 walk ins a day, so she should get in. She has an envelope full of documents and utility bills, so I don’t think she’ll have any trouble. I’m still worried though. Nothing is ever easy with the DMV. :rolleyes2

EDIT…Someone told her a few minutes ago that the system crashed at 3 yesterday afternoon, and everyone had to leave. If I had been there since 3am, someone would’ve got a cussing. :censored:

If someone told me I had to show up at the DMV at 3am to stand in line I would have told them to eff themselves. I'm a morning guy, but before 430am its still nighttime.

It probably doesn't help OP with regards to living in Tulsa and needing drivers license work done but I wholeheartedly recommend the Hinton office. Its a lil drive from the OKC metro but I made a morning of it. I just showed up, no appointment necessary, with the required paperwork, in less than 10 minutes I was walking out with my temporary realID. Went to the casino next door, got some breakfast, played a few machines and drove home. They were also great when my son and I got our motorcycle endorsements. The test route was thouroughly explained and easy to navigate. Only thing that seemed a bit janky was they clipped a motorola handheld to the collar of my jacket for communication, could have had a headset but whatevah.

At our Alabama Law Enforcement Agency (ALEA) here in Alabama, the lady behind the counter came out and got me a chair while we transferred my DL from Oklahoma to Alabama. When I went to register my truck from Oklahoma, another lady came downstairs from her office in the Courthouse and helped me change the plates.

I don't know why some of you keep telling him to go to this and that tag agency, when there only a few locations around Tulsa that do out of state transfers.

I'm in Tulsa. My Washington DL expires this month, and I didn't think too much about the complications of getting my license transfered. According to the interwebs, both of Tulsa's locations are already booked up 60 days.(by appt only)
Mon-Fri of course, which means taking a day off work to go try a walk-in office in one of the surrounding areas. I've also read recently that lots of people are getting turned away at local offices even when arriving prior to opening hrs.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
I came back to Oklahoma from Texas about a year ago and had to transfer my license, I walked in DMV at the old mall on 21st street and Aspen at 6:30 in the morning, they opened at 7:00, I was out in about 45 minutes. Good Luck
