The price that they are at now, has caused a shortage at my house, whether there is a shortage or not.
I used to eat Eggs daily, sometimes twice a day, when they were under $2.00/dozen.
I have had hens before in the past, and decided that cost of feed was about a break even for farm raised vs store eggs. So I quit that. Plus every time I wanted to go somewhere for extended periods, I would have to find a caretaker for them.

Winco(Moore) had plenty of all kinds and prices didn't seem too out of line. Dz of jumbo regular eggs was $3.78. I think 18 of Egglands Best was $5.50 or so. Haven't bought any in quite a while since neighbor has chickens. They're molting now so production slowed way down. Free eggs again soon!

It was on world news tonight that there is and egg shortage related to bird flu and the upcoming holidays increased usage.

Probably like other folks did that watched the broadcast we ran over to Homeland by the house and picked up a couple dozen.....they had already been picked over pretty good.

Storage wise Google says that eggs will last in the frig for 3-5 weeks.
Eggs will last that long on the counter. Twice as long in the fridge. I bought eggs at Braums yesterday for $6 and change per dozen and about schit when I saw the price. My usual braums run is $35ish and I paid out $72. FJB
