I've got an EOTech 557 and 3x magnifier. I was showing it to someone today and noticed some pretty heavy scratches on the outside of the magnifier. I've only had it out a couple of times and always keep a scope cover on it so I couldn't figure out what did it. The only explanation I can come up with is that the brass is coming back and hitting the magnifier when it is laid over. The location of the marks matches and I am certain I would have noticed any other contact capable of making the scratches.
Has anyone else had this problem? Sorta seems like a design flaw to me.
