So back to the point, don't you HAVE to have insurance if you owe on your house? So did 85% of these people have their houses totally paid for? Something just doesn't add up to me.

So back to the point, don't you HAVE to have insurance if you owe on your house? So did 85% of these people have their houses totally paid for? Something just doesn't add up to me.

No you do not have to. the bank or loaning institution requires full replacement on the structure. Once you own it, you can drop all insurance but I cant imagine not having it.

I think that's under the "Life Sucks" section of the "School of Hard Knocks" curriculum, in which you learn that if you don't make provision for yourself, you're screwed.

Yea it's funny right. Some may want to look and see the parts that say A lot of them don't have Ins. because they canny get any. They live in the sticks, back woods, in the country. They want to live and raise there families away from the citys and be country folks. And when they live far out away from fire Dept there is no Insurance coverage for there homes and belongings. So let's blame them it's there falts. Right NOT cool to talk crap when you are not there.

And for the ones that say well they can live closer to town to have Insurance. Would be like the Gov. Comming in to your house and telling you have to move because they don't want you living there so Obama can build him a Golf course. Relocate to Africa

The State has a high risk pool where those who live out in the sticks can get coverage. It's not cheap but neither are the cigarettes that most of them are smoking. Let me bottom line it, if your **** is not valuable enough that you care to insure it, why should I care to replace it.

By the very terms of your own argument, they are making a choice as to their lifestyles. Why should I be forced at gunpoint to subsidize that choice?
