Ron Block's "A Living Prayer" as sung by Alison Krauss. Altough I'm pretty biased... Alison sings my favorite version of EVERYTHING, I would buy an album of her singing a dictionary.

Since Elvis has been mentioned several times here, I thought some might not recall the fact that the back-up group most used by Elvis for both gospel and non-gospel songs was The Jordanaires, a gospel group in their own right. Jordanaire trivia: Pat Boone once aspired to be part of the group but was rejected and that was part of the reason he started his solo career. Further Elvis gospel trivia: he loved to have well-known bass singer J. D. Sumner in his back-up group, even in Vegas, because he loved to sing gospel backstage after his shows. Obligatory YouTube link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D870dwssD0A

As you might guess, my favorite gospel song is most anything where JD sung with any of the groups with him as the featured bass: Stamps, Blackwoods, Gaither's Old-time Gospel shows.
