When I was in highschool, I dated a girl who lived near Ratliff City. The cop car in Ratliff City at that time was, no kidding, a black and white Nash Metropolitan. For those unfamiliar with this earliest import, it looked like it should be Minnie Mouse's car, down to the spare on the back end. I'll try to find a picture of the type, though I doubt I could find one of the RC police car. It had a full size gumball of the roof of that teeny little two seater.

I have since owned a bunch of these, but haven't dealt in them for over 20 years and all my Metro stuff is sold and gone. CB

Turbo's have a decent life expectancy, my father in laws powerstroke just now has a bearing going out, 243k on the odometer...pretty sure his oil field truck has seen more abuse in those two years (its an 08) than the average cop car will...Turbo's can also be rebuilt, but I believe normal life expectancy should be well over 100k. Alos, considering Ford designed this specifically for LE, to keep the market share they have, durabilty would have been addressed.

I an not sure about my favorite police car, but I can sure tell you what my least favorite police car was. Some idiot decided to buy AMC Matadors for the DPD around 1974, if I recall correctly. My car had more time on the tow hook of a wrecker than it had on the street.

We also had a 440 Dodge Magnum, which I always tried to get when my fine Matador was in the garage. It would run like stink, but it was not good at stopping or turning. But it made a lot of noise with that carburetor sucking all that air.
