Chargers may look cool but they are some of the bigest POSs as cop cars. They arent built near heavy enough for the abuse they see as a cop car. Edmond PD just ordered a new Camaro ,pretty sure its going to be all black, cant let Oklahoma County have all the fun. Personally I can wait for the new Ford Interceptor to hit the streets. Twin turbo V-6 all wheel drive, balistic door panels, on board fire suspression. Its going to be nasty

The Hemi cars are cool but weak brakes, no hip room and cave like interior offset the power. My favorite car is the 94-96 LT1 9C1 Caprice. IMO outfitted with 3:73 gears they will run with any 5.7 Hemi car albeit with more room, better outward visibility, better brakes and full frame toughness. I like the 9C1s so much my oldest sons first car was a safe reliable 9C1 Caprice courtesy of McAlester PD. It looked good sitting next to my 95 Impala.

This is what my dad drove. He loved it.

I think the new Taurus would be too expensive and complicated to work on. They'd have to retrain the motorpool, or sind their cars to the dealership for repairs. How would the AWD hold up after curb hopping after a BG?

My concern with the Taurus is how long will the turbo's last with the wear and tear put on police vehicles....what are they $1500-$2000 to replace. That's why I wouldn't own an ex police car. I know what mine goes through (drive it like you stole it...LOL) ..I would rather have the new Caprice PPV....

Thanks for posting that link HVYCHVY....That car was freaking ridiculous(awesome)...where's OHP's camaro for that chase? and I'm a fan of the Chevy Impala SS as well...bad arse cars:ooh2:
