Here's one of my favorite police cars-sorry for the poor image quality. Back in the 70s, the town of LaConner, Washington, once had a Renault LeCar as a patrol car!

I never knew anyone had a GN police car??

I had a GN fly by and pull a car over up ahead. No external lights and very dark windows. Probably a town that had "captured" it.

Stringtown had a black camero with "Stringtown" painted on with what looked like 2 inch stenciling, and the overall car looked pretty rough.

Well I do know there were 1978 Ford LTD's with 460's and Dodge Monaco's with a 440's. Each of them were also available with the small cubic inch 400's too.

I vote for the 1993-96 Caprice cop cars. The 9C1 pkg had the same LT-1 350, as the Corvette's. My latest 95 model started life as a detective's car and then as a fire chief's car. The detective I bought it from claims to have seen 140mph a time or two. He left the spotlight and pushbar on it too. I don't think it took the everyday beating that some of the regular patrol cars got. If you keep your foot out of it, 20 mpg is normal. Most will go 200,000 miles with maybe a trans overhaul in between. That is what happened to my first 1994 model while it was in "hot pursuit," the trans gave away right in the middle of the road. It limped home in 1st gear.

I've gotta go with the Caprice LT-1s as well. Absolutely the best car I ever patrolled in. Roomy, powerful, comfortable.

Now I'm in a CV. It's ok. Sure miss that that 95 Caprice.
