if you are wanting a .223 for hogs the AR is a decent platform. I personaly would rather use a .243 for the heavier grain projectiles. Another gun I would like to use is an 8mm mauser, but the closest thing I have to it right now is a mosin.

If you can get an Armalite in 243 I think that would be a perfect all around rifle, on the other hand the ar10 in 308 is a little bit easier to find parts for.

Also, the AK / SKS / VZ 58 / CZ 527 all in 7.62x39 pack a nice punch and are excelent choices.

The Colt, BCM or Daniel Defense are all top choices, but I'd go with 6.8SPC for caliber. As a matter of fact, that's exactly what I'm building now! :)

FWIW, 6.8 is Bill Wilson's preferred hog round and he kills a metric buttload of them.

i go 45-70, i use to have a 308 saiga, dont any more thanks to super dave

I haven't enjoyed a rifle as much as I do this one in some time, and I am very fond of a few others I own. I'm just REALLY REALLY fond of this AK on steroids!!!!
