Drop the SOW and you'll be able to take your time and pick of the suckling piglets with a .22 pistol to the head. They'll hang around mama's carcass for a little bit.

BTW I'd suggest doing this from an elevated position, like a tree. LOL

This was taken in Inola with my game camera on November 21 @ 3:00 AM. Later pictures show a bore and this sow with about 7 piglets. From the picture, I am estimating this one to be close to 300 lbs. They have been very nocturnal with pictures ranging from 10 PM to 3:00 AM. I am in the process of attaining a spotlighting permit and will lay waste to them before the year end.

Change of plans. Instead of the spotlighting, I will be constructing a cage to capture the beasts. Anyone interested in a live hog?

And I am thinking about manufacturing the trap to sell. Would there be a market for these?

Theres a good market for hog traps. I don't know how much you intend on charging for them but I do know at Gander Mountain you can buy them starting out under $400.

I was really curious about that. I guess eventually, the piglets would scatter.

Thats a really good price. I'm sure you could sell quite a few at that price point. At the rate hogs breed (as early as 6 months old and possibly 3 litters a year) theres a good demand for traps.

Someone needs to. Down here in Bryan County they're becoming a real problem. Theres lots of dense woods down here and alot of out of the way places that these hogs can hide in a never really have to worry about man. We have three rivers here (the Red, Blue and Washita) and you can find an abundance of them around any of these places. Two were killed last year inside the city limits.

Did you hear anything about a wreck in Ponca caused by a deer jumping in front of a motorcyclist in the 14th and prospect area?

Yes, it was in the news. Motorcyclist was taken to the hospital by ambulance. Deer was KIA. This is becoming a deer hot spot in town. I almost hit one a couple of weeks ago in the same area. Right around the area of the banks, credit union and cleaners on Prospect just east of 14th.
