As much as it sounds like someone who casually buys and sells weapons on a regular basis possibly should have an FFL, does the BATFE really give them away that easily? If someone said they wanted to just buy and sell at an above average rate and maybe work some gun shows and list stuff on the internet, is that enough for them to want to give you an FFL? I was under the impression, they would rather have less people with FFLs that those that actually want them.

the ATF recently contacted me regarding a multiple firearm transfer for I recently submitted. They advised they were investigating this person as a dealer selling without a license. They are watching.

I'm willing to wager that our little board is well watched. I'm also willing to bet that at least one, if not more of the non FFL "flippers" here in the Classifieds will get a visit from the BATFE in the near future. I wouldn't be surprised if someone here hasn't already "caught a case" from dealing guns in the classifieds.

If you have to ask yourself "am I dealing"? You probably are.

I do know if you buy 50 lowers, even tho they were a really, really good price, you WILL get a visit...at work...on a Saturday...by SIX agents. Just saying...

Let's break this down... and someone correct with if I'm wrong....

You buy 50 lowers at 5 lowers per 4473 so that's (10) 4473 forms. The dealer makes (1) phone call to NICS. Can a current FFL comment if the dealer is having them all approved at once, or does the dealer have to specify the customer needs 10 forms approved?

The dealer isn't telling anyone what the customer is buying over the phone. Why would the BATFE know you bought 50 specifically? How would they know what you bought? Did the dealer report you as being suspicious?

Lastyear some time a guy put a group buy together (he's an ffl). One guy purchased 6or so and he was visited by the ATF looking to see if he still had them.
