Only caught one more this afternoon (about a 16 incher), but I got a lot of bites. I didn’t see any carp, but I saw three big soft shell turtles. Just finding out the catfish are back made this a great day.
Went fly fishing early this morning and caught 42 bass before heading back home ...
I used my Sage 10 ft. 7 wt. outfit this morning, knowing it was going to be windy, and fished a hand tied deer hair bass bug on a 4X tapered leader.
A fun morning for sure and a lot of blow-ups on a top water bass bug. It was great.

Last week at Steel Creek on the Buffalo river. It was more of a hiking trip but I did manage to fish for a few minutes...
That looks very much like the first fish I ever caught. I was 3 or 4 yrs old, fishing with Grandpa at Mountain Lake.
Over the next 80+ yrs, every time I’ve caught one, and there have been many, I think of that first one.
