The plane was low, flying NE, banking right turn to the SE. Gave me a view of the plane from the under side. Distinctive triangle tail. Biplane, not triplane. Clouds shadowed the sunlight from the West, so the plane was silhouetted against bright clouds to the SE.
edit: OK I thought you were asking how I saw it silhouetted, not about an app.

Depends on the app. I’ve seen screen shots that showed the silhouette.
