I have been trying to lose weight for years. I eat right 95% of the time with an occasional cheat day to keep my soul happy. I walk when ever weather permits. Problem is some of my meds cause weight gain and the docs do not want me outdoors unless the temp is about 45 and below 85. That limits a lot of what I can do. Tomorrow I have an appointment with a new doc since my old one no longer takes my insurance. Hopefully he will get me off some of this crap.
I’m in a similar boat as you. I started a new med last fall and I’ve been gaining weight. I actually changed meds to one that doesn’t have as much weight gain potential. Now if I wasn’t frustrated that it’s not coming off faster than it went on, I’d be a little happier.
Food tracking is really helpful to get a baseline of food intake. You can eat healthfully and still consume excess calories. Which reminds me that I haven’t been tracking my intake for the last few months.
I would also suggest you get a referral for a obesity and weight management specialist or ask the new doctor, if he could prescribe meds that help with weight loss, as long as it’s safe for you to take them.
