Well, I've got to get rid of an 89 Toyo pickup that died in my hands Monday evening. I won't be repairing it because of internal engine damage too costly to repair. But first I have to reclaim $45 worth of gas that I put into it just before it quit. Damn tires are just a few months old too. Since I have a 95 4 Runner, I would also like to save a few parts that are the same

What is the best way to get rid of a dead vehicle? Do any charities still haul them off for donations or do you just have to have them towed to the junk yard?

What about title? Do you have to notify the state?

theres a place in sperry that will crush it for you, and give you a little cash. pack it full of steel junk if you have any to get rid of around the house. they take the title and all that stuff. if your in the tulsa area.

Pull apart will pay you and come pick it up, but they only pay $40 or $50 for the entire truck, I would suggest cuttin off the cadillac converter and radiator and then call them

Poke a small hole in the gas tank and drain it then put a screw in the hole so it won't leak out or drip. Pull a Part doesn't tow anything that is dripping gas in any way. They want tires on it, but do cut the cat off, if it is still there. You will tke the title to them and they will pay you. Call them in advance and they will give you the price they will pay
Good Luck

I dont know what the recycle prices are but depending on size weight a Catalytic Convertor could be fairly valuable. A few years ago I had a couple that I scrapped and got anywhere from $50-200 for them. Foreign cars are usually on the cheaper end and I think the prices are lower nowadays.

A buddy of mine scrapped a Suburban at a metal recycle place not too long ago. It was missing the engine and trans and he got close to $250 for it, but he did have to haul it there.
