Have google reviews ever bit you? I hired someone that had all 5* reviews, dozens of glowing ones as a matter of fact and nothing lower than 5*. Yet, they did not meet that expectation when they worked on my house. After three visits, they finally got it right but only because I was diligent in reviewing the work.

Did they just have a bad day at my house or do you think companies have grandma, uncle and aunt Susie populate the reviews? I am just curious if I am the only one to have this happen to.

At least 50% of reviews online now are fake IMHO. And yes, most small operations will ask their families and friends to put in good words.

All I know is never use Statewide from Home Depot. A year and a half later and after four tearouts, we finally had a working bathroom.

It took us over a year to get our windows completed (properly) through them as well.

I look at reviews (with a grain of salt), but only a first hand review from a known person would I trust.

Even then, the work could be outside their scope and be problematic.
Luckily, you got the job finished to your satisfaction.
