Gotta vice so I can "get a grip"

Picked this up this morning. 1943 Rock Island 572 vice complete

with the 3.5" BRASS jaw inserts. Still has the Britman tag attached !! Smooth operator....

Old vises are just cool. Bravo for using one of those than some new junk one.

Real vise there. Most of the new ones from China are hollow.

Thanks, its the real deal that's for sure. I guess you could say they "over built" this for having 3.5" jaws but back then you got quality.

Good vices are hard to find these days. Buy all you can find. I have several extras stacked on a shelf under my bench, they provide a great ballast.

It was on there too? I found it on armslist. Got it for a real nice price too I might add. Didn't have to drive but maybe 10 miles to pick it up so doubly nice.
