When I was a kid and yeah its been a minute , I remember my grandfather telling me once that if you wanted job security no matter if it was good times or bad you needed to be selling whiskey or operating a whore house.

He also said people want the above more in bad times and than in good times ... We ain't exactly had the best of times in the last 20 years to be honest .
I for one, don't see any advantage in the legalization of pot, or casino gambling, except for the pot growers. sellers, or casino operators! I for one see less advantage, when the government OVER REGULATES, we the people! If I have to choose between over regulation of the American People, or legalizing pot and/or casino gambling, I'll go with the lesser sin every time, pot and gambling! might as well through in ligalized prostution , while we are at it, don't you think?

How can something be legal to give away but not to sell?

Republicans WERE NOT THE PLANTATION OWNERS!! In FACT in 1861, the year the Civil War started, not a signle one, of the four million+ slaves held in bondage, this country was owned by a Republican, ALL WERE OWNED BY DEMOCRATS! All the plantations, operated with slave labor were, owned by Democrats! The very word Confederacy, was synonymous, (that means the same as) Democrat, the word Union was synonymous with Republican, President Lincoln WAS THE FIRST REPUBLICAN PRESIDENT EVER ELECTED TO THE OFFICE!!!! The BIG SWITCH Democrats refer to, actually happened in the 1960's, when Democratc Politicians figured out that there were more votes for them, if they PRETENDED TO BE ON BLACK PEOPLE SIDE, AND USE THEM, RATHER THAN MASTER OVER THEM, AS THEY HAD ALWAYS DONE!!!!!! THE AMAZING PART IS, IT WORKED???? Lyndon Johnson said upon signing the Cival Rights act, and the voter rights act, in 1964, and 1965, "THIS WILL HAVE N****S VOTING DEMOCRATC FOR THE NEXT 200 YEARS"!!!!!!!!!!!! GET YOUR HISTORY FROM HISTORY BOOKS, NOT MINI SERIES ON TV!
LOL...this place never ceases to amaze me. First I took a position farther to the right than some guy last month and he called me a "libtard", and now this.

I am fully aware of all of this history and it has nothing to do with what I was saying. I was saying that we as republican voters are on a "plantation" as voting slaves forced to vote for necon warmongers who care more about the ukraine border than our own. And that anyone who doesn't fall in line is un-electable. We are kept on a reservation by the RINOS and establishment republicans...just face it.

But since you mentioned the democrats, I think they do the same thing to minorities. As you eluded to, LBJ wanted to put them on a voting reservation for years to come and it worked.

Anytime, any group of people need to be controled, they are placed on RESERVATIONS, so their food, housing, utilities, etc can be used as leverage to control them! American Indians, blacks, Japanese Americans, German Americans, during WW2, much less than Japanese Americans, I guess they looked less treating? Now the question is: was that the best option available at the time, to solve a REAL PROBLEM? Nothing is just 100% right, or wrong, is it?

Heres my free advice (for what it's worth, pun intended) I don't smoke weed but in my youth I probably smoked a ton, literally, So I know of what I speak. I would rather be around a stoner than a drunk. Stoners don't get high then want to fight every one in the room. Stoners don't throw up on people. Stoners shouldn't drive while stoned but I'd much rather deal with a stoner driving 10 mph on the interstate then a drunk going 80 that doesn't know he's going the wrong way on the interstate. The "medical marijuana" BS is just that, BS, yes some people actually do need it for medicinal reasons but we all know most people are just using it recreationally. The whole idea was to get the camels nose under the tent then pivot instantly to gain recreational status. I'm a conservative but also a libertarian, I'll defend your right to swing your fists wildly right up to the point where you reach my nose. Finally never forget that for the time being even if it is totally legalized in Oklahoma it is STILL a federal crime and until that changes, if you have a pot card for medicinal or recreational reasons then it's STILL illegal to buy a firearm and you commit a federal crime by possessing weed. Try going into Dong's gun store smelling like weed and see how long it takes to kick you out for that very reason. By the way, most people like smelling someone reeking of weed about as much as they do having some drunk breathe in their face. Climbing off my soapbox now and taking my wings off. Merry Christmas!!!

I was mainly using the term reservation as a metaphor and not meaning a physical place. We are basically on a voting reservation where we can only vote for candidates who's foreign policy doesn't represent what is best for that average middle class and working class American. Instead, our reps (including from OK) at the national level are most concerned about the borders of ukraine and borrowing more money from China to fund our military industrial complex lobby.

It doesn’t matter. Liquor by the drink, wine in grocery stores, casino gambling, medical weed, recreational weed. Morals are eroding in America and nothing good will come of it. The almighty dollar is king and fewer people actually care about anyone but themselves. We all have choices and consequences for those choices. We can argue that the less the government regulates things the better it is for everyone. Let’s just do away with all laws and let everyone fend for themselves.

Many of the smaller growers will be out of business within a year. There is commercial growers waiting for this. I deal with many local growers who have told me in person that recreational cannabis will kill many of the little guys.

We're getting there already, if not by written mandate, by actions.

We release criminals, refuse to prosecute thieves, punish citizens who protect themselves and their property. Government armed enforcers are held up as better than the regular citizen, and not subject to the same laws as the rest of us. Lawmakers are exempt as well, even on a much grander scale. Our paychecks are robbed each week when our earnings are extracted before we see them. Criminals manage our money, cowards send our young people to risk their lives in faraway places that they should never set foot in. We imprison honest men who reveal the lies our government tells.

So yeah, let's go ahead and get things out in the open and let the chips fall where they may.
