I was told to find old black powder shells if I ever wanted to try it. The side that still has the hammer might light one off, But I haven’t tried to set the hammer back and probably never will send one down range. Rather my kids have a wall hanger than a box of broken shotgun parts. Lol

These old shotguns were pretty much hardware store guns. Mine had similar markings back when craftsmen built guns after years of apprenticeship.
I looked at yours closely. Mine that was stolen has a feature that cannot be duplicated and is special to that firearm only. Everywhere I see those, they get inspected.
Pretty sure the meth head relative stole all the guns, but need to find one and start getting LEO to pressure them for the back trail of where they got it. I'm sure it will lead back to the relative and I'll be more than happy to put him back in prison for his third term.

I really enjoy researching old guns like this and the proof marks, but I gotta be up in a few hours and need to get to bed, so the best I can do at the moment is share some research material in the hopes that you can find some more info. I'll give it a look tomorrow when I have time.
