Buyers premium plus sales tax. No thanks!

The last gun auction I went to proved to me that either the recession was over, or there are a lot of gun buyers with more money than sense.

I was there and wish I put some of mine in the mix. Everything went real high. Just one example Blue S&W 586 for $650. I inquired about the % charge and here is the break down. The seller pays 10% the buyer pays additional 5% and then buyer paid 8.8% sales tax. Needless to say I did not come home with anything.

How long has it been since any thing at a gun auction (in Elk City) went worth the money?
I quit going. I'd rather watch tv.
I still send a few guns out there to sell, but I do not even go to buy. Elk City is an oil patch town. Alot of guys making big money and they think it is going to last forever. Guns always go high.
