So explain to me how the first post could be considered stroking my ego? I'm a little confused. Its a simple comment about an event in my life that had to take place as part of my position at work. Did I say I called the person in, read them the riot act and kicked them out the door on their butt? Not in the slightest. I did what 90% of the rest of the contributors of this forum do. Open up a discussion that many can relate to. If you were offended by it then don't read the tread.

I got laid off in '09. I was incredibly mad at first due to being next in line for promotion, but, after 9 months of being unemployed, I sucked it up, did some self-evaluation and decided to learn what I could from the situation. I applied back to the same company, took a lower paying job, and have busted my butt since then. I am now making considerably more than when I got laid off, have gotten several awards for performance, and many more opportunities presented to me. Major kudos to my wife for sticking by me through everything and actually marrying me while I was laid off.
That is a great lady you have. I hope things just continue to get better and better for you guys.
that totally sucks, at my old job I was promoted to a supervisor and that same day they were like congratulations your promoted, Here are some pinkslips now fire all 40 of these people. It was awful!
