With all due respect, I would encourage anyone writing to a politician or public official to carefully proofread their work first. Gun owners are already labeled as ignorant rednecks, especially by the left. We should go out of our way not to give any credence to the stereotype with our communications. Using proper grammar, punctuation, etc. is vital if you want to be taken seriously.

While I have no desire to open carry, I support the bill. I would be shocked if Henry supports it but I'm sure there is a way to get it done without him.

Something wrong with what I wrote?

The substance of what you wrote is fine. In general, 'god' and 'american' should be capitalized. You might also consider a comma following the word 'Personally'.

I'm no spelling/grammar Nazi, but that's a couple items I noticed on the first reading.

Local(up to state level) politicians don't look at your writing skills,They don't care whether you're a "dumb redneck".They look at you as a "voter" who is passionate enough about an issue to write.A state legislator once told me if he got 10 letters about an issue,he knew it was important to his constituents. So much for all the people who say they are going to write their reps. If you're writing to support something that is already in motion then they aren't going to pay much attention. They will basically just count how many come in on each side of the issue. (Of course, if you look like too much of an idiot it will get passed around and laughed at.) If you're wanting them to take action on your behalf or start something new, it does become much more important to present your case well.

Of course, not many of them have English degrees, so you do have a little wiggle room.

The status shows motion to reconsider, I have no clue what that means.

Now Im just a simple farm kid so I could be reading this wrong but according to Roberts Rules of Order on a Motion to Reconsider.
36. Reconsider.1 This motion is peculiar in that the making of the motion has a higher rank than its consideration, and for a certain time prevents anything being done as the result of the vote it is proposed to reconsider. It can be made only on the day the vote to be reconsidered was taken, or on the next succeeding day, a legal holiday or a recess not being counted as a day. It must be made by one who voted with the prevailing side.
Like I said Im no lawyer but fron this it sounds to me that the Bill is stalled and may not have even gone to Gov. Henery yet
