well i sent him a message.
This is what i wrote:

Gov. Henry,
I am writing this short note to extend to you my sincere hope that you will sign the Open Carry bill into law and further support our god given right to defend ourselve with the use of firearms.
Personally I thought this would never have gotten this far when I signed the open carry petition that we started on www.opencarry.org.
My name is second on the petition and my friend Russ Cook is first. We started this with hope that it would someday come to pass without really believing it ever would. Now we are this close and I think its very important that you realize the impact this will have on restoring a piece of the rights of every Oklahoman and every american. This could further lead to restored rights in other states as well.
Thank you for your service to this great state.

I maybe actually but my uncle was researching that and came up with nothing. Brad is from Shawnee (Pott Co.) and my dads side of the family also came from Pott. Co. (Trousdale) which would suggest more of a coincidence. But according to my uncle, hes no relative to us.

Or maybe your Uncle is a republican and doesn't want to admit it.

Hear hear.
Firearm training in Schools in OK should be mandatory.
With schools protected from legal action if there is an accident.
Absolutely. We will be a much safer society.
Not to mention: no irrational fear of firearms.

Absolutely, +10,000. I've long said that these three 1-semester courses should be mandatory for ALL school children, at *some* point in junior high or high school:

1. Gun safety and basic firearms information
2. Logic
3. The capitalist, free-market system

heck..if we taught logic and the how the free market system in Oklahoma imagine the chaos.

Folks would ask for raises... labor is a commodity after all.
Cities would raise taxes instead of running their little gas and electrics as a revenue source to fill pot holes.

A state with the transportation system we have (rail in nearly every town that counts and good highways that go to everyplace worth going to) it would seem like we could attract some business. Utlity and ifrastucture issues kill us... and the city sales taxes run a lot of retail out of small towns.

Back years ago.. in Tennessee whe had to take one mandatory "Health Class" in the Junior year. In addition to STD training, a little first aid and cpr and general hygiene... we took a few weeks for the Hunter Safety and Boater Safety classes.

Be careful what you ask for... people may think your "progressive" or something.

You are correct, but at least we would be progressing in the right direction....

keven... as long as we move forward I am all for it, bud.

As a student of history... I can see why we passed some of the laws we did in 1907... after all-from that juncture in time we could see what we thought was NOT working in the older states.

We really need to look around as see what works and what does not work every 100 years or so...

Yes every 100 years good idea and maybe getting rid of some of the 10,000 federal laws and this is just the United states code not including all the alphabet agencies special laws( something like 26,000 laws for IRS alone).... strip old laws but keep the original constitution of course...

More freedom, less taxes, governed by the US constitution and the OK Constitution... wow it is like a constitutional conservative utopia....

If this does pass, I plan to carry every day. i don't now because of imprinting. I don't plan to really open carry but will no longer be concerned if people can tell or not. I hope it becomes law.
