A email I just sent to the Gov, who I actually kinda know...

Governor Henry,

I am writing you in response to your interview by the Tulsa World. In the interview, when talking about HB 3354, you were quoted as saying,” I will have to say, I share some of the concerns that have been expressed to me by law enforcement that the open carry makes their job more dangerous," he said. "It makes it more difficult for them to distinguish between the bad guys and the good guys. So, I will take all that into consideration. I haven't made a final decision yet."

I will offer you some relief in knowing that it’s not the ‘Bad Guys’ that will open carry. They want to be deceiving, and under the radar. It’s the law abiding citizens that will open carry. It’s those very same citizens the State has already trusted to carry firearms. The one’s that have already been determined to be both safe and free of criminal behavior. You see, in our Great State one must hold a Concealed Weapon License in order to carry concealed. And if you sign into law HB 3354, citizens will still have to have this license from the state in order to open carry.

And further, obtaining this license is no small ordeal. The people who apply for this license are subjected to a background search at a local level, investigated by the Chief Law Enforcement Officer. When that is passed, it’s then sent off to the OSBI for a State level background check. Then off to the FBI for a check through them. So be assured that criminals will not be able to openly carry firearms. And this in fact helps Law Enforcement. As they will know as well as you and I, that a person carrying openly has been thoroughly checked.

And even further, is the fact that there are 42 other states that offer open carry to its citizens, either licensed, or in many cases unlicensed. In these states there have been no issues with law enforcement, that’s been established. They have also not seen the so-called “blood in the streets,” like so many would like to convince you.

Governor Henry, I want to encourage you to sign HB 3354 into law. Doing so is much more than just restoring a right given to the citizens in the constitution. It is allowing citizens the tools to protect themselves and their families when the attire does not allow for a very good concealment of their licensed firearms. The summer time being a prime example of this.

Thank you for your time.

They have updated the Gov's tracker page. It's now on there, but it's not at the end of the list. I don't know how they sort them.

There are about 35 behind it, mostly with earlier dates . . .

You can go right to it by typing the bill name into the blank field.
