we should all write Brad Henry, but maybe not about guns...:P We should write him about everything else maybe. Just keep him distracted for five days. What can we write about to keep his mind off of the bill? Its gotta be something VERY important

Seems there have been several of those out of country "help me do something with all of this money" letters, should we forward all of those????

Don't want a pocket veto. He has to sign it.

Are there enough votes to override the Gov.?

I think if no one changes his/her vote then there are just enough in both houses to squeak by. But I wouldn't be surprised if some of the pols switch their vote so that they can deny us OC and at the same time tell their districts "see? I voted for it...."

I might be wrong, but my understanding is that if the Governor does nothing, a bill goes into law on the date designated by state law. A pocket veto can only occur when the legislative session ends before that time. I believe the date for HB3354 is 5/17 and the legislative session ends after that if I'm not mistaken. I know this is the way federal law works and I am sure that state law is very similar.

Maybe someone more knowledgeable of state law can comment.

Send him a copy of your avatar. I hear he likes cats. That should keep him distracted. :D
