My only addition is "keep the weapon on you". If ya got yo go get it, there may not be time, this also keeps the Little's out of it. A lady in Mwc had a day break in, she reacted instantly and was able to get to the weapon. One bad guy fled, one did not. +1 for the good. If not on you, then a small handgun safe with finger print lock, probably as fast as it gets and safe for young'ns. Be intimately familiar by shooting whatever weapon you choose.

Another consideration about revolvers is the blast coming out the sides between the cylinder and the barrel. No problem on the range, but you don't want that anywhere near your or a loved one in a fight.

Honestly, if you're in a fight for your life and your loved ones life the cylinder flash is NOT a consideration. It will never weigh into anything you do during that struggle and it shouldn't. The cylinder flash won't kill anyone. Needlessly worrying about that and hesitating could just get you and yours seriously wounded or dead.

It may not kill anyone, but it could easily blind someone if their face was close by, but consider it or not, your choice.

Between your experience and Tom in the video you would know that your not always right. Just some of the time.

There are many, many reasons to use a semi auto vs a revo. 20 rounds vs 6 rounds is the answer.
Studies by many crime scene investigators and Medical Examiners have shown that pistol rounds are not man stoppers.
Death comes from loss of blood to the brain. If you shoot somebody in the chest, center mass, they have about 5 to 10 seconds to still react.
Those of us that deer hunt know that a double lung from the side will still let the deer run 40+ yds before it expires because blood loss to the brain hasn't occurred. Shooting somebody facing you only gets one lung or heart.
In that 5-10 seconds when you shoot somebody with a pistol, and the time they expire, they can cause a lot of damage with return fire.
Count 5 seconds out to your self if you were shot, and then think about how many times you can pull the trigger in that 5 seconds. You can dump a lot of rounds.
More rounds on the target is the answer. Hopefully hitting the spine or brain. Those are man stoppers that is instantaneous.

I didnt say that there not good reason to have an Auto pistol for home defense for some. Just pointing out that the revolver has place for home defense for some. Are you saying that there is no reason to have a revolver over an Auto pistol for home defense? So far you've listed 14 reasons unless you have an auto that holds 18 like most of the pistols that were recommended. Then you only have listed 12 reasons. Add a 30 round mag and you get another 11 reasons, unless you have a 8 shot revolver. Then your back to less reasoning. LoL. Back to what OP listed as experience with firearms the revolver may easily be the better choice for home defense. Sounds like she may already have it. Maybe there is a stout Ruger or S&W 357 mag in the safe. One hit with full house 357 mag loads at home defense range can equal 2 of the 9mm. Now your down to 10-6= 4 reasons. Hoddy would you say your not right just once. LoL
