Some mad lad 3D printed a bunch of “ghost guns” and took them to Houston’s Gun Buy Back. Word is he got $50 each. A cop supposedly gave the guy crap about it for trying to “game the system” but decided to pay him for the lot because the guy threatened to hand them out for free. Apparently these were also just pieces the guy made for testing and developing the actual 3D print he’s working on.

Best part. Him and several others made several legal purchases at the buy back at great deals due to the long lines.

How much does it cost for supplies to make an item that big?
Just talking about the plastic or whatever it is.
Technically, most of those are “liberator pistols” the first design of 3d printed guns. While illegal without any metal in them, you technically only need a few bucks worth of ABS filament for the 3d printer And an AR pistol grip. Looks like there’s at least one in the box fully assembled, probably to prove that they’re pistols. I have seen versions where they use AR fire controls too.

These are similar in principle to the WW2 FP45 Liberators, that were dropped by airplane over occupied Europe, or the Deer gun planned for Vietnam one conflict later.
