We have a small hot tub that holds 250 gallons when full and I needed to change the water. So, obviously, it needed to be drained. I hooked up the drain hose and let gravity take care of getting the water out. It takes a while so I left it to do a few other things on my chore list. I came back about an hour later and noticed about 70% of the water had drained out. This is what it looked like. That small wet spot on the ground was it. All of the water had apparently drained into a couple of cracks in the ground from it being so dry. I had no idea those cracks in dry ground could hold that much water...

I remember as a kid getting the garden hose out and trying to drown moles and gophers, never could figure out where the water went either.
