As for what happened to "one nation, indivisible", it's simple really: two parties accusing each other of taking the wrong route to accomplish the same goal, and the American people buying those arguments.

It'll take a miracle for the government to last as long as the 3 year minimum in the poll. The slippery slope we're on is not linear. It's exponential. There comes a time when that gentile slope will roll off a cliff. That line you see off in the future is not just the horizon. It's an event horizon.
