I went to High School with their son. The limeades, burgers and hand cut fries were the best!
I grew up in the oil fields in Lincoln county.
I don't remember exactly the year, but it was in the late 70s/early 80s they took some of their Dixie Dog money and purchased a small oil/gas company. My dad was their production manager. Good folks as I remember.

I don’t think anyone is saying it is.
I thought it was always the brown derby.
The owner when delivered there was Johnny Kinsel <sp?>
If you go through this thread I posted pics of the original Sonic on Harrison.

eta: okay maybe @1mathom1 was saying that. I thought he was saying the brown derby was better. My bad.
No worries.

I think they’re opened back up.

As a side note when I first got out of high school I worked for C&H Wholesale in Shawnee. One of their customers I delivered to was that Brown Derby. The owner’s wife was smoking hot and flirty. Loved making deliveries there.
I hope so. I stopped there when I could. Much prefer supporting locals over chains. Sonic is no longer the Sonic of old.

Former WWII German concentration camp prisoners. Both of them still carried the numbers on their arms they got in the camps. Their son Michael has written a book about their time in the camps.
They were hard working folks living the American Dream.
