Yup. Pretty common for the last two weeks of August to have cool if not cold fronts coming through. Dove season starts Sept 1, and in the past years, 50 degree nights tend to drive the birds south.

Back when I was hunting dove alot and prayed for hot dry conditions you could mark your calendar. September 1 would always, always, always have a wet cold front hit. My favorite tactic was setting up on a pond in the evening and nab them when they came into drink before roosting. Can't count the times that plan was blown up. One year we got a perfect setup and about 4:00 it hit. Heavy rain, thunderstorms and cold! The birds just vanished into thin air. Couldn't find a bird to save your life after that.

But this year I'm not bitching about it even if I do get to get out.
