They had some stupid, an old Savage bolt action, single shot .22LR $650
They had some ridiculous,, Marlin .444Marlin lever $1600
They had some reasonable buys.

I made a purchase, a very lightly used, possibly unfired, Browning Auto-5 12ga Magnum 30" Full.
Was the browning reasonable?

Please tell me it went for a ridiculous price. ( Lie to me if you have to 🤣)

$1000

It stuck @ $650 and I thought it was going to sell, then it jumped, again.

He had several boomers. .458Win, .378Wthby, .375 H&H, .340Wthby, .257Wthby. The .257 went for $1400. All the others were $1100 - $1300.

Every Auction I have attended with firearms have went for stupid prices. Alot higher than could be bought new. Finally quit going my time better spent doing other things.
Auctions are funny things. If I go, everything of interest to me sells for stupid money, but if I can’t go, they give everything away.

I went to a farm equipment auction a few years ago. They had a John Deere utility tractor that originally came in a package with a trailer, box blade, and brush hog. The tractor alone, which was used, but not abused, sold for more than the price you’d pay John Deere for the whole package brand new.

About 20 years ago, I went to a farm auction and watched a big (running) antique drawbar tractor not sell for $2,500, then a little Allis-Chalmers Cub go for $5,000. It’s all in what the folks in the audience want to buy when the hammer falls…

Today, I ended up with 3 ice chests, 120, 70 on wheels and 55. A Garcia 5500 on an Ugly Stick, 2 Penn spinning reels on 11' Ugly Stick and 9' Heavy Cat, a Zebco 808 on a 7' Heavy Cat. A King air mattress NIB, 2 propane, portable grills, 2 minnow buckets w/ aerator. Decent haul. Again some stupid prices and some good prices.

I had to laugh, I had bought the rods and just bought the 2nd grill. Auctioneer was moving positions, comes up behind me and says, "you are here for the bargains."

Well, D'uh!

If you are bidding, you best know what it is and how much it's worth. Seen too many idiots pay double retail prices.
