Military members under court martial are still expected to display all military customs and standards. This includes dress and appearance. Shave the beard.

Also, he volunteered to join the Army, waiving his "this is my religion" excuse when he signed the dotted line.

It is pretty dang petty that the judge would want to throw around his weight like that...

He wasn't throwing his weight around...he was enforcing the customs, courtesies and the rule of law in a military courtroom....

He got bounced because the powers that be don't want the public attention that would result from a imprisoned, wheel-chair bound Muslim being forcibly shaved. The mouth breathers will go nuts.

I say do it anyway, but our weak knee'd lightweight "leaders" don't have the stomach for it.

The whole bathroom stuff may indicate an issue; it does cause some concern to me. I'm undecided on the removal of the judge.

But I see no reason to overturn the forced shaving.

This "politically correct" attitude isn't new.
In my day one could register as a concientious objector during the draft days.
You could use religious reasons, or whatever. Your still got drafted, but might serve as a clerk or in a lot of cases a combat medic that did not carry a weapon.
Those objectors, when put in combat situations, took up arms to save a buddy when the SHTF. Some have been given major medals for their valor.
Slightly off track, but still, this protect the muslim sensibility's going on in this administration with a muslim president is disgusting.
