I have found a wrong caliber here and there in a few of my winchester boxes. Guess it's the price you pay for cheap ammo :D I'm glad your wife caught that. Better safe than sorry.

That's really more of a fun surprise for me...like getting a fry in your onion rings at Burger King.

I've never had ammo come broken in the box, except for one cracked neck on some old Hungarian surplus 7.62x54r. I've seen lots of Blazer Aluminum cases crack after being fired though, which is why I don't buy that stuff anymore.

I can see an opening at the base of the bullet.
Did you pull the bullet to see if there was any powder in there?
At worst, if fired it would have been a squib round with bullet stuck in the barrel.

No, I sure didn't pull it, but I think I could pull it with my fingers if I wanted to. When I shake it though, I can hear powder in it.
